Expansion and modernization of the drinking water network | Essential infrastructure for safe consumption
The need
The existing network could no longer support the community’s current and future requirements. A solution was needed that would ensure a constant flow of drinking water, reduce losses, and be compatible with directional drilling installation, a method that minimizes soil disturbance and reduces costs and emissions.
Challenges
The work took place in an urban environment, where limited space and existing infrastructure required a careful approach. Compliance with deadlines and European standards was mandatory, and the chosen solution had to offer long-term reliability, with a lifespan of at least 100 years.
Our involvement
TehnoWorld was the partner that delivered the complete solution, tailored to the technical requirements and conditions on the ground. We worked closely with the execution teams to ensure predictability, quality, and efficiency in implementation.
The solution
We supplied high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe with a diameter of 630 mm, fittings, and on-site welding equipment, guaranteeing the tightness and strength of the connections. The choice of HDPE was essential for compatibility with the directional drilling installation method, which reduced the number of machines, CO₂ emissions, and environmental impact. The modernized network spans 9 kilometers, and the estimated lifespan of the solution is 100 years.
The project in Fălticeni demonstrates how technology and expertise can transform challenges into sustainable solutions. The new drinking water network ensures safe consumption, reduces losses, and protects the environment, providing a reliable infrastructure for future generations.
